This nationwide holiday has been celebrated in Russia since 2004. It was established in memory of a significant event in 1612, when the people's militia led by Minin and Pozharsky liberated Moscow from foreign invaders and brought an end to the Time of Troubles. The holiday symbolizes the unity of the people, each of us’s involvement in the fate of Russia, and the desire for further prosperity of our Motherland. Our country has a rich historical past, and its future depends on each of us. May National Unity Day become a celebration of kindness, magnanimity, and care for others.
